The City of Panama City recruits candidates for employment in a wide variety of jobs. The greatest number of jobs is in the areas of clerical, general labor, and uniformed Public Safety. In order to provide an equal opportunity to interested applicants, vacancies are posted in the Department of Human Resources in the City Hall Building, 9 Harrison Avenue, and are sometimes advertised in the newspapers and professional journals, depending on the position to be filled. Occasionally, competition for promotional opportunities is confined to members of the City workforce and is not advertised for the general public.

The City of Panama City has an open application process and applications for employment are accepted at 9 Harrison Ave., Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Applications will not be accepted for a position after the final posting date. Following the deadline, applications are screened. Applicants are generally notified within three weeks after the deadline if they have been selected for an interview. However, the time frame may vary depending upon departmental needs and priorities. Original applications remain on file for six months. To be considered for future vacancies, you may contact my office and request that your application be considered for another announced vacancy. The only information you need to provide is your full name and the position title of the announced vacancy. After six months, applications become inactive and a new application is required for continued consideration.
