Current Projects

Marina Master Plan Update Project
The Downtown CRA Plan has envisioned the redevelopment of the Panama City Marina since 1984. A Marina Master Plan Concept was prepared in 2006 by Bozarth & Associates. The Master Plan for the Marina is currently being updated under a contract with AECOM. Public meetings occurred in January, March, July, and November of 2011. We are currently in Task 3 of the contract which the design portion of the contract. The video for the public workshop on January 24, 2012 is posted on YouTube. Click here for Link to video.

Jenks Avenue Corridor Improvement Project
The Jenks Avenue Corridor Improvement Project is a joint project between the Downtown CRA, the Downtown North CRA, and the City. The project will span from 6th Street (Business 98) to 15th Street (US 98) on Jenks Avenue. The project is focused on improving the walkability and the lighting of the corridor. Project elements will include: removal of existing sidewalks, construction of new sidewalks on both sides of the street for the entire length of the project, curb ramp improvements, striping of bike lanes, and new lighting.  Download PDF of Public Meeting Presentation from October 6, 2011.

Watson Bayou Park Fishing Pier
The Millville CRA has hired a local engineer, Gortemoller Engineering, to design and permit a fishing pier at the Watson Bayou Waterfront Park at 3rd & Maple in Millville. The design is underway and the permitting has also started.
