Utility Billing / Customer Service
The City of Panama City provides water, wastewater and garbage services to residences and businesses in the community. If you wish to start, stop or transfer service, or have questions about your city utility services regarding meter readings, billings or payments, we invite you to visit with a customer service representative at the Utility Billing Office located at 9 Harrison Avenue in the City Hall building. Utility services provided by the City of Panama City include water, sewer and garbage. The current utility deposit required for water, sewer and garbage service is $140.34. In addition, a $25.00 nonrefundable service charge is required to set up a new account. The deposit required for utility customers who receive water, sewer and garbage service outside the corporate limits vary. Commercial customers' deposit amounts will also vary. Residential utility deposits are refunded to customers who have not had a delinquent utility account or an account that has been disconnected for 24 consecutive months. If your deposit has not been refunded and you close your city utility account, the deposit is applied to the final balance owed the City. You can stop or transfer utility services by telephone in just a few minutes by calling a City customer service representative. Customer Service office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For walk-in service, you can visit the Utility Billing Office located at 9 Harrison Avenue in the City Hall building. We recommend that customers notify Customer Service 24 hours in advance of any service needed. If you are unable to pay your city utility bill by the date shown on your bill and you wish to enter into payment arrangements, call the Utility Billing and Customer Service Division. Payment arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis. Failure to pay your bill will result in disconnection of service. If you receive a disconnect notice and payment has been made, please contact the Utility Billing Division. Utility bills can be paid at the City Hall building located at 9 Harrison Avenue or at the after-hours drop box located on Harrison Avenue across the street from City Hall. When your utility service has been discontinued for nonpayment, the previous unpaid balance of the bill plus a service fee must be paid before service is reinstated. If your utility service has been discontinued and you feel this was in error, call the Utility Billing Division. Now, you can have your city utility bill payment automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account each month using our Automated Payment System. This service is FREE of charge.
With our Automated Payment System, your city utility bill is always paid on time without any of the inconveniences we've mentioned. Your bill, reflecting the amount of the payment to be withdrawn from your checking or savings account, is mailed to you in advance of the actual funds transfer. This gives you plenty of time to balance your checkbook or raise any concerns regarding the bill prior to payment.
Use of a Credit Card for this service will result in a fee of 3.25% of the utility bill. Fill out the Authorization Form and return it to the utility billing department at City Hall. You can obtain the "Automatic Bill Pay" form below.
