Matthew Standley began working for the City of Panama City fulfilling the role of Plan Review/Cost Estimator in May 2011. In December 2012, he was promoted to the Assistant Utility Director. In 2013 after serving as the Acting Utility Director, Matt was promoted to the Director position. A graduate of Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Matt also holds his Level 1 Water Distribution Operator License. Matt’s previous experience includes 9 years with Regional Utilities in South Walton County where he served as Project Manager and Director of Water and Waste Water Operations. His experience includes the construction of water lines, waste water lines, water wells, water storage tanks and waste water treatment plants as well as overseeing the day to day operations of water and waste water systems.
Native to the Florida panhandle, Matt enjoys fishing, boating and water skiing. His love for the area provides him with a great sense of community and he is committed to serving the residents of Panama City with integrity.
