Performing Arts and Events Center Architect Services Presentations
Friday, October 15, 2021
On Friday, October 15, 2021, the City Commission for the City of Panama City will hear presentations from four architecture and engineering firms interested in partnering with the City for the design of the City’s new Performing Arts and Events Center.
As part of the City’s continued commitment to embrace the arts, the new complex will replace the Marina Civic Center which was destroyed by Hurricane Michael.
The four firms chosen through a competitive selection process to give presentations are Stantec from Miami, FL, Smallwood from Atlanta, GA, DLR Group from Orlando, FL, and Wilson Butler Architects from Boston, MA.
Each of the firms will give a 45 minute presentation highlighting the firm, design team, completed architecture projects similar in scope, and how the team will accomplish the City’s project.
An evaluation panel will rank the architecture firms and provide a recommendation for the selection of a firm to the City Commission for consideration. The first phase of the design process will include a market analysis, site recommendation, and establish design requirements for the new complex.
Citizens are invited to attend and view to the presentations. Additionally, citizen feedback will be accepted via comment card, letter and email.
The presentations will be given at 8:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and Noon at the Bay County Government Center, located at 840 W. 11th Street. They will also be streamed live on the City’s website, https://www.pcgov.org/369/Live-Stream.
