If you’ve been by the new city hall building at 501 Harrison Avenue, you’ve probably noticed renovations to the exterior are well underway.
GAC Contractors is removing the masonry roof and sections of the exterior walls to inspect the condition of the steel framing. This is necessary to ensure the building hasn’t sustained any water damage and will remain waterproof.
The commission voted to install a new brick façade which will give the building a traditional look.
The barrier fending surrounding the building will remain up until all exterior work is complete to ensure safety for the public and vehicles.
Inside of the new city hall, crews are cleaning up the site following some demolition and preparing for additional renovations.
