Fire Hydrant Flow-Testing to Begin March 19th

Hydrant Testing

The City of Panama City will perform fire hydrant flow-testing beginning Tuesday, March 19th through Friday, March 29th.

The hydrant flow tests will be conducted at 30 sites across the City and are necessary to fine tune the water system and ensure hydrants are functioning properly.

While testing is being performed in your area, there may be a temporary drop in water pressure, and discolored water sometimes results following the flow tests. Both of these issues are temporary and should clear up quickly.

Water customers who see discolored water should run their water for a few minutes to allow new water to work its way into the pipes.

The testing schedule is weather dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
