Swimming Advisory Issued for Watson Bayou

The City of Panama City reports a release of approximately 362,880 gallons of raw sewage from a gravity line break into the Watson Bayou waterway.

Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria and parasites.

The Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in all of Watson Bayou waterways until further notice.

For more information, you may contact the City's Utilities Department at (850) 872-3164 or the Florida Department of Health in Bay County at (850) 872-4455.
