Panama City City Manager Mark McQueen is expanding his weekly "Monday Morning with the Manager" style meetings to include a monthly forum in the evening. Beginning in 2020, Mr. McQueen will hold "Monday Night with the Manager" on the first Monday of the month from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“The desire in expanding ‘Monday Morning with the Manager’ to include a meeting in the evening is to make sure that we are reaching all of the citizens of our great community. I feel like it is important to make sure we are getting the perspective of all citizens as we work together to become the premier city in the Panhandle," said McQueen.
Mr. McQueen began the weekly morning meeting in February 2019 to encourage community participation as we all work together to rebuild Panama City ’bigger, better and stronger’ after Hurricane Michael hit on October 10, 2018. During the meetings, Mr. McQueen typically provides updates on current and future projects and plans in the City then opens up the floor for questions and discussion from citizens.
"The objective is to break down the barriers to communication. If we can do that and enhance communication, I am confident we’ll end up with a better result for our community," McQueen added.
The morning meetings will still be held every Monday (excluding holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at City Hall.
