The City of Panama City is proud to announce its new Hometown Heroes program to honor those who are serving or have served our country in the United States Armed Forces with streetlight banners.
The streetlight banners will include the veteran’s name, branch of service, and photo in uniform. Banners will initially be placed on street light poles throughout Historic Downtown Panama City during various times of the year.
The program, sponsored by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), is free and open to Bay County residents or immediate family members of a Bay County resident. Applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis and space is initially limited to 100 participants.
To nominate your Hometown Hero for participation in this program, complete the online application form found in this link: https://seam.ly/LhP14gh9 and submit a portrait-style photo of the veteran or active duty service member in uniform within the form. Paper applications are also available in the lobby of City Hall, located at 501 Harrison Avenue, and may be submitted in Room 206 on the second floor.
