City Commission approves Nuisance Abatement Special Assessment

Update, September 14, 2020:

The City Commission has adopted a non-ad valorem assessment roll to recover the cost of the nuisance abatements pursuant to the City’s Code of Ordinances and Florida law. The assessment will only be levied on the parcels that have Code Enforcement liens and that benefitted from abatement action; this is not a City-wide assessment.

The City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on September 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to consider adopting a non-ad valorem assessment roll to recover the cost of the nuisance abatements pursuant to the City’s Code of Ordinances and Florida law. If approved, the assessment will only be levied on the parcels that have Code Enforcement liens and that benefitted from abatement action; this is not a City-wide assessment.
