Swimming Advisories issued for Massalina and Watson Bayous

The City of Panama City is working with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to document and report all Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) caused by power outages at lift stations and heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Fred.

At this time, the City advises citizens to not swim in Massalina and Watson Bayous.

The City’s laboratory technicians are testing impacted waterways throughout the City. The City will provide results to FDEP and the Florida Department of Health in Bay County as well as share updates on the City’s website.
