  1. National Great Blacks in Wax Museum Traveling Exhibit

    February 13, 2020, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ A.D. Harris Learning Village

    The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum Traveling Exhibit is coming to Panama City on February 13th - 15th. The Panama City Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is honored to host the wax figure exhibition "Being Literate, Being Free." The exhibit highlights historical personalities for whom literacy was the key to a future of freedom and hope: - Frederick Douglass, social reformer, abolitionist, orator - Mary Elizabeth Bowser, union spy during Civil War - Lewis Latimer, inventor, draftsman, contributor to invention of first telephone - Zora Neale Hurston, Author/Anthropologist - Granville T. Woods, Inventor: Electronics, Transportation and Telecommunication - Mary Eliza Mahoney, First Licensed African American Nurse A Heritage Program will be held on February 13th at 5:30 p.m. A reception, sponsored by ACURE, will follow the program. The exhibit will also be available to view on February 14th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and February 15th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Code Enforcement Hearings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of the month. The hearings begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until all cases on the agenda are heard by the magistrate.
